CHROMA Etihad Modern Art Gallery, Abu Dhabi On view through 5 September 2025
Etihad Modern Art Gallery is pleased to present Chroma, a landmark group exhibition showcasing ten distinguished contemporary artists from the Middle East and South Asia. Reflecting a wide spectrum of cultural, aesthetic, and conceptual practices, the exhibition highlights the vitality of regional art and its capacity to engage in cross-cultural dialogue.
Participating artists: Soraya Sikander (Pakistan), Sana Hayat (Pakistan), Narges Soleimanzadeh (Iran), Balnur Assanova (Kazakhstan), Amani Elbayoumi (Egypt), Magdy Elkafrawy (Egypt), Mahmood Al Daoud (Syria), Nidal Khaddour (Syria), Mustapha Noureldine (Iraq), Saad Twaij (Iraq).
Among the key works on view is Circle of Life by Soraya Sikander, created specifically for this exhibition. Executed in a fresco-inspired technique, Circle of Life brings together two central strands of the artist’s practice: her calligraphic landscape vocabulary and the expansive metaphysical themes of her Cosmos series. The painting unfolds as a layered meditation on planetary cycles, ecological unity, and the sacred geometry of existence. Blurring the boundary between material and immaterial, Soraya’s work invokes a sense of timelessness and cosmological rhythm, rendered through delicate brushwork and a textured surface reminiscent of ancient wall painting traditions.
The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of His Excellency Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, who extended his support to the participating Pakistani artists, marking a significant moment of cultural representation for Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.
Chroma is presented with the generous support of His Excellency Khaled Seddiq Al Mutawaa, Founder and Chairman of Karamm Group and advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates. His Excellency’s patronage reflects a lifelong commitment to the advancement of arts and culture in the region.
