After a gap of six years, Pakistani artist Soraya Sikander showcases a landmark new exhibition. The 'COSMOS' series opened in Pakistan in two cities: Karachi and Lahore.

'Cosmos' oil on canvas paintings are executed in Mughal fresco painting techniques, exploring this classical subject, in a contemporary context, recontextualising and reimagining subcontinental art history, and popular themes, fables and folklores, in a modern twist. The 'Cosmos' series paintings of organic forms, forests, flora, hummingbirds, and butterflies are finely executed.

The most popular painting from the exhibition was 'The Conference of the Birds' a poignant cluster of birds, butterflies, motifs, dragonbirds, symbols, and illumination come together to give birth to this powerful, metaphorical, legendary tale of The Conference of the Birds. 'The Conference of the Birds' is loaded in details, colours, precision, intricacy, meticulousness and mastery of form.
